Kiddlets

We're having some friends over for dinner tonight. They're the sort of friend you all know well - people that you've worked with at church, that you admire tremendously...but, you've never actually DONE anything with. Well, last week Marriner and Farrel had a funny conversation at work that basically ended with, "We NEED to get together some time." And guess what - we're doing it! Woohoo!

As we were getting ready for dinner, Sam asks, "Who are these people coming over, anyway?"
Mom: They're some friends of ours, I don't know if you've met them though.
Sam: How did you meet them?
Mom: When we first moved here. Brother Martin works at NRL with dad, and they work together at church, too.
Sam: So do they sign a lot then?
Mom: Nope, they don't sign, we're going to have to talk tonight instead of signing. Oh darn, right?

I expected Sam to be pretty excited, because everyone always complains about having to sign during dinner. But I was wrong!

Sam: Wah! That's so boring! Because I just like signing better. Because we have to talk every day all day at school, and everyone's just sitting on the carpet shouting out. I don't like everyone shouting out all the time....

He kept going on about it for a while, but I think you get the point: Sam likes signing. Or his Kindergarten class is just crazy noisy.
